About the Artist

  Hi I''m Danny! I'm the nonbinary and disabled artist behind Popwink. As a kid who was taught that queerness is evil and unnatural, I didn't realize that being nonbinary was even an option until I was in my twenties. Once I learned that though I quickly realized just how queer I was! I came out, started dating my now-wife, and started posting on Instagram about my experience with being nonbinary in a world that is hostile to trans people. 

Since I am mostly bedbound with ME/CFS, I spent a lot of time drawing and posted my art every day. My account grew quickly and my wife and I decided to start turning some of it into stickers and sell them at local Pride festivals. That was also a big success (there was large demand at markets after lockdown ended), and so we launched our website and started the Sticker Club for people who wanted to get art in their mailbox every month! 

We've been doing this since 2021 and I'm so thankful for the community and support I have received. It's tough to be housebound and not have any local community, but the internet community has been so kind to me that I've been able to build friendships over my phone and with my art. Thank you for being here with me. It means a lot.
